It is not at all too early to start preparing for the limit filings for the H-1B visa. This news has come in as the reminder for the 1st April 2016 deadline for filing the petitions for the H-1B visa for the fiscal year 2017.
Petitions for fresh fiscal year, which would be effective from on or after 1st October 2016 would be received by the government which begins from 1st April 2016. The Immigration and Citizenship Services of the US would keep on accepting the fresh petition after 1st April 2016, but only till the limit for the H-1B is achieved.
This year it is expected that the limit to be reached in the initial week of April. And once the limit for the H-1B is reached, the employers will not be able to file the fresh limit subject to petitions for H-1B till 1st April 2017 for the beginning dates of 1st October 2017.
The Congress had placed a numerical limit on the H-1B visas. The limit for the fiscal year 2017 is around 65,000 limit subject to H-1B visas with around further 20,000 visas that are available for the people who had earned a Master degree or the higher education from the recognized educational institution of the US.
As in the last year, it is estimated that the limit of the H-1B visas to get reached within the opening week. Therefore it is advisable for all the employers to make the sponsorship decisions on the H-1B as soon as possible. It is very vital to prepare the petitions for H-1B and before 1st April so that they can be put forward to the USCIS on the initial day of the quota opening.
It has been strongly advised to finalize the decisions regarding the H-1B petitions as quickly as possible.
