Japan has extended the validity of visa to 10 years for Indian citizens

Japan is all set to relax its visa rules for Indian citizens as the multiple entry visas are going to get doubled for the people of India to 10 years. This was informed by Japanese Foreign Minister, Fumio Kishida.

The ease in visa norms would get effective from 15th February 2016.  This is going to be beneficial to the businessperson, artists and students.

According to the foreign Ministry, the measure was part of the drive by the Japanese government, for increasing the overseas tourist numbers to Japan, along with the person to person exchanges. This multiple entry visa with the ten year validity is the lengthiest granted by the government of Japan.

According to Kishida,  Japan hopes that the visa relaxing would raise the visits of people from India to Japan for academic and business exchange purposes, tourists could get entry in Japan, could also meet family and friends on the consequent trips.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had previously declared about this visa relaxation with his meeting with Indian Prime Minister last December.

Modi had also declared that India is going to extend its visa on arrival to citizens from Japan from 1st Marc this year.
