Kuwait spent $7.4 billion in 2013 on family tourism

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has confirmed that Kuwaitis spent $7.4 billion in 2013 on family tourism.

Reports have revealed that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have accounted for 31 percent of the aggregate expenditure on activities of tourism.

Saudi Arabia holds the top position as regards to the expenditure on family tourism followed by UAE, Kuwait and Iran in 2013.

The analysis has revealed that family tourism has increased to a huge extent in 2013 compared to 2012 accounting for $140 billion and $137 billion in terms of expenditure in the respective years.

American embassy in Kuwait has confirmed that there is a rise in demand for American visas especially in case of students. Over 5000 student visas were issued during the previous 12 months, which is considered to the higher compared to the equivalent period last year.
