London has become the second most visited city in the world

London has jumped two positions for becoming the world’s second most visited city. As per the yearly study that track foreign arrivals.

London had overtaken Singapore and Bangkok with around 17.3 million overseas visitors but was behind Hong Kong with 27.7 million visitors that stood at first position for the successive sixth year.

London has become the second most visited city in the world

Singapore stood at third, Bangkok at fourth and Paris remained in fifth position. Macau goes up to sixth position and next to it was Shenzhen, New York, China, Istanbul and Kuala Lunpur.

With around 3.6% additional foreign travelers on the last year, London was the leading destination in Europe and it is the only city to get into the list of top 100. According to Wouter Greets, Travel Analyst, London is among the most iconic cities in the world. 

According to the report, as per countries are concerned, the US and China is leading with their seven cities. Rio de Janeiro had the major increase at 46.6%, due to the FIFA World Cup and 2016 summer Olympics are predicted to drive additional increase. 

Famous for its waters and beaches, Mexico and Cancun was next to be followed with 42.1%. Asian continent has witnessed a rapid increase thanks to the increasing number of Chinese travelers, enhanced flights connections and comfortable visa limitations.
