Malaysian nationals will not need to file applications for tourist visas to visit the United States as the President, Barack Obama, has given consent to Malaysia to participate in Visa Waiver Program (VWP).
Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Malaysian Minister for Home affairs, said that new set of rules had been composed in accordance with standard operating procedure (SOP) controlled by the government of United States to stop human trafficking.
New changes and measures had been implemented, which includes executing Advanced Passenger Screening System (APSS) to stop human trafficking.
Malaysian officials will be the first to avail the VWP followed by businessmen and tourists or ordinary citizens.
Thus, eligible travelers can avail the program to visit the US without a visa for a maximum of 90 days for the sake of tourism or business.
