Mallika Sherawat Requests for Visa on NGO Founder's Behalf
Mallika Sherawat has always worked closely with several NGOs for social causes and this time around, the Bollywood actress, has gone a step ahead in helping humanity. The actress worked with Free-A-Girl India and supported the association’s co-founder, Evelien Holsken, for getting an Indian travel visa. She wrote to Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister of India, requesting her to approve Holsken’s visa since it is getting rejected repeatedly.
In the letter, Mallika Sherawat has written that Evelien Holsken, the Dutch CEO of Free-A-Girl has repeatedly been denied the visa for India. The NGO has done amazing work in India and across the globe to help trafficked children and woman. She ended the letter requesting the minister’s help. Sherawat is the brand ambassador of School for Justice, an initiative started by Free-A-Girl. The NGO spreads awareness about child prostitution and connects local communities to fight against trafficking and prostitution. The School of Justice initiative works with girls that are rescued from both situations and provides them training, education, and support. It also connects them with lawyers and provides legal assistance.
Sherawat said that she strongly feels about the issue urges the government to provide help by granting the visa to Evelien Holsken. She has worked tirelessly with Indian women and children and always interested in their benefit.
Swaraj has always provided help in the causes she believes in, and we hope she helps out the NGO’s co-founder with her Indian visa. In the past, the external affairs minister has helped medical cases, long-term visa cases, and Pakistani jats for entering India for respective purposes. She is always open to genuine requests. Most recently, she helped a Pakistani woman, who was supposed to marry an Indian with a visa to travel to India. The woman had already applied for the visa, but it hadn’t come until then, so she helped her.
