Manitoba held a draw on April 11 and issued 403 invitations to candidates using the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. This stream is also a major component in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. Additionally, it allows the province in nominating a specific number of immigration candidates to seek permanent residence in Canada every year. 352 candidates in two groups received invitations in this draw. The Express Entry system administers a pool of candidates for three immigration categories which are
• Federal Skilled Trades Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class, and finally
• Canadian Experience Class

Moreover, the EE candidates having the Manitoba provincial nomination also get 600 additional points in their ranking score. This is a guarantee to get the invitation to apply for PR. Furthermore, to get consideration for the Manitoba nomination these candidates have to submit a separate EOI profile to the Program.
All Eligible EOI profiles get a rank depending on scores for factors like work experience education, and a connection with the province. The top ranking candidates get the invitation to apply for a nomination in the province through draws held at regular intervals.
EE candidates receiving the invitation in this draw must also have a valid ID and the job-seeker validation code. The six months of work experience in a listed occupation in a top demand job of the Program is also necessary.

The other criteria:
• A close relative living in the province or past education/work experience;
• Six months of recent experience in a top demand job of the Program; and finally
• Language proficiency in English/French of CLB 5 and CLB 7 if the work experience is in a regulated occupation and CLB 6 in
case of compulsory trade.
The score of a candidate with a low rank in these groups was 561. The draw also issued 51 invitations to Strategic Recruitment Initiatives candidates. The score of a candidate with a low rank in the SRI was 695.
