Manitoba Expression of Interest Draw Issues 492 Invitations

Immigration authorities in Manitoba held second EOI draw during the month and issued 492 invitations to candidates. The beneficiaries belonged to the

• Skilled Workers Overseas,
• International Education
• Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams.

Details and Facts


These streams belong to the MPNP, which permits the province to nominate a specific number of economic immigrants, seeking PR every year. Moreover, it issued 351 LAA   to Apply, seeking the nomination, through the Skilled Workers Overseas, 106 LAAs to Skilled Workers candidates, and 35 letters to candidates of the fresh International Education stream.

Manitoba Expression of Interest Draw Issues 492 Invitations


The score of the Skilled Workers Overseas candidates, receiving the invitation in the present draw, was 576. Additionally, the lowest score for Skilled Workers was 502. After the Dec 20 draw, the total number of invitations, issued during the present month was 1,022.

Express Entry candidates invited


Authorities invited E.E. candidates in the Skilled Workers Overseas stream on December 20 but their numbers were not specified.

The EE  supervises the pool of candidates for these Federal High Skilled economic immigration programs

• Federal Skilled Trades Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class,
• Canadian Experience Class

The eligibility requirement in MPNP is that E.E. candidates must have six months of recent work experience, in a top demand occupation of the province, and also a Job Seeker Validation Code.

Profiles and Nominations


The norms for getting consideration in the nomination from the province, the E.E candidates have to initially register an EOI profile in the Program. Profiles get a rank depending on the scores for factors like language proficiency, work experience and education. Connections like having a previous education/ work experience or a close relative in Manitoba also get importance.

The top among the candidates gets the invitation seeking the nomination through regular pool draws. Moreover, EE candidates receiving the nomination from the province also add 600 points to the EE Ranking score.

The Program also issued invitations to candidates of Skilled Workers Overseas stream who were outside the EE system in this draw.

The Requirements


The requirements for these candidates to receive an LAA are:

• A relative living in the province or work experience/past education in Manitoba;
• Six months work experience in a top demand occupation present in its list; and
• Language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 is necessary. If the work experience is in a standard occupation it is CLB/NCLC 7 or CLB/NCLC 6 for a compulsory trade.

Finally, the province issued 44 LAAs to Skilled Workers Overseas aspirants having the score of 718 in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. These also include overseas recruitment drives conducted by the Program.
