Minimum Score drops in the recent BC PNP Entrepreneur Draw

Immigration in British Columbia had a record low minimum score for the second draw in the BC PNP Entrepreneur stream. Such Candidates who scored 110 points received invitations for British Columbia Immigration in the draw held on Dec 12th.

There was another record in the draw as it issued the largest number of invitations (25). Moreover, the first draw of this category was held in November 2015. In the previous draw held on Oct 28th 25 invitations were issued and the minimum score of 112 was necessary.

The Requirements for the B.C. Entrepreneur Category


Business candidates in British Columbia Immigration category have to meet these minimum criteria:

  • A personal net worth of $800,000;
  • A personal investment of $400 000 for establishing/purchasing and expanding an eligible business in B.C.;
  • Creating three jobs for Canadian PRs/citizens;
  • Participating in the day-to-day management and direction or the business;
  • Signing the Performance Agreement with B.C. prior to nomination;
  • Candidates in the Entrepreneur category can sponsor a major staff member for PR in Canada

Qualifying For the Regional Entrepreneur Category


For the Business candidates in this category meeting these minimum criteria is necessary

  • A personal net worth of $400,000;
  • Making a personal investment of $200,000 to establishing/purchasing and expanding an eligible business in the province outside the metropolitan areas in  Vancouver and Abbotsford;
  • Creating one new job for Canadian PRs/citizens;
  • Participating in the daily direction or management of the business;
  • Signing the Performance Agreement with the province before nomination.

Additionally, in the recent BC PNP Tech Pilot draw 31 invitations were issued through the Provincial Nominee Program.

For the Skilled worker candidates in the provincial Express Entry and in the direct provincial streams there was a requirement of 85 points in the Sep 19th, draw.

For International graduates under both streams there was a requirement to score 95 points for qualifying.

Moreover, the provincial nomination serves as a guarantee in selection for the Express Entry System, by adding 600 CRS points.

The BC PNP also announces the necessary scores for immigrants to guarantee an invitation in its programs.

The score requirement for an international graduate is 30 points lower than a skilled worker in the Express Entry and provincial streams.

It is still lower for entry-level and semi-skilled workers.
