It has been a year since the start of e-Tourist Visa (ETV) facility, and the Dabolim airport of Goa has granted as many as 37,199 e-tourist visas to the tourists from around 65 nations.
According to statement release, this e-tourist visa facility was extended to the individuals of around 113 nations, and it was launched by the Central government in the month of November previous year and it was introduced in Goa the next month with the entire processes placed to make sure it provides efficient and smooth services for the visitors who seek an e-visa on visiting the state.
This ETV information which is till the month of10th December 2015 revealed that around 7,000 citizens from the UK had availed this service at the Dabolim airport of Goa.
The release also added that the citizens from Russia are the top ETV seekers for Goa, and so far around 20,258 ETVs has been issued by various airports of India.
Overseas citizens who had received this facility of ETV in Goa includes the citizens from Canada, France, Australia, Germany, Finland, Jordan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Sweden, Spain, Norway, UAE, Poland, Oman, China, Portugal, Japan, the Philippines and Singapore.
The influx of the overseas travelers includes the individuals visiting through charters and as Free Independent Travelers.
And According to the State Tourism Minister of Goa, Dilip Parulekar, FITs are usually huge spenders and would be drawn to Goa with the initiatives currently started by the Tourism of Goa. It is very motivating to witness the hike in FITs in Goa.
