New Delhi and Chandigarh were issued 321% more Canadian Study Permits

Canada is one of the best destinations for students, business travelers and visitors from India. Minister of State for Multiculturalism, said at the Pravasi Punjabi Divas Sammelan convention that large number of study permits and visitor visas were issued between January to December, 2013 from Canada’s New Delhi and Chandigarh office.

Business Express Program (BEP) is another example of Canada’s initiative in building relations between India and Canada. Business Express Program, in India since June 2008, was started to provide eligible employees and business personnel with various services and advantages includes minimum paperwork, visa application processing and a committed service that works according to the requirements of the program.

Various new programs have been started to bring more visitors to Canada and make their travel easier. For instance, in the year of 2011, the period for multi entry visas was lengthened to 10 years from 5 years. These new programs facilitate visitors to come in and exit up to 6 months over a 10 year time period. Moreover, grandparents and parents of the Canadian permanent residents and citizens are qualified to apply for new Parents and Grandparents Super Visa. PGP (Parents and Grand Parents) Visas are valid up to 10 years and allows grandparents and parents to stay in Canada up to two years of time without renewal.

In the year 2013, the number of visas issued increased to 73%, study permit visas have been increased to more than 321%, from the time of 2008. A Total of 2,793 visas were issued under the Business Express Program in the year of 2013.
