New York City had welcomed around 58.3 million visitors in 2015

Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio with NYC  & Co.  has announced that last year was the sixth successive year   of increase in tourism as the city had welcomed around 58.3 million visitors.

According to the Mayor,  with the hard work of NYC & Co, and support of many attractions of city like restaurants, performing arts and many more, last year has marked a latest milestone for NYC Tourism. As New York is the safe and exciting city in the US, people had so much rich offerings that continue to make New York a universal draw.

New York City had welcomed around 58.3 million visitors in 2015

Around 46 million national and 12.3 million foreign visitors had visited New York last year. The demand for Hotels was also good with around 33.7 million hotel room nights were sold and convention and meeting delegates reaches new heights with 6.1 million people.

According to the Fred Dixon, NYC & Co. President & CEO, New York continues to progress , always provides new reasons to visit again and again with many latest developments. With the continuing pressure on the international economy and the strengthening dollar, we would require to work hard in 2016 to carry on the competitive edge.

The latest attractions that opened in New York during last year was Whitney Museum of American Art, One World Observatory, Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration. Kings Theatre, Brookfield Place and Slaten Museum.

Large number of people from the UK, Brazil, Canada and China has visited the city last year, with China tops the list with the growth rate of 14% and an estimated 8,52,000 visitors, UK with 1.192 million, Canada with 1.072 million, Brazil with 9,26,000 and China with 8,52,000 visitors.
