According to the Interior Minister, people on the visit visa to the UAE now do not require leaving the country for changing the visa status to the residency permit.
As per the Spokesperson on Naturalization, Department of Residency and Ports, Interior Ministry, under the rule 377 of the year 2014, the visa holder of any type could change the status of their entry and residency permits while residing in the nation.
He also informed that the people would be able to change their entry permit status electronically with few rapid and user friendly measures. The visitors would not require to leave the nation, they could update the status of their visas and could also pay entire fees while staying in the country.
As per the official, this decision would assist those who seek to change the status of their visa without the trouble of traveling. This decision is applicable to any type of entry permit. This decision will also save both time and effort.
Firms and the travelers shall submit their applications to renew their permit status before expiry to avoid any violations. Individuals could also refer to any of the immigration offices or entry ports in the country for the services.
The types of entry permits are transit entry, one month short visit visa, 3 months long visit visa, entry permit for education, entry permit for medical treatment, entry permits for conferences and exhibitions, tourist visas, gcc residence entry permit, work related two weeks entry permit, job related multiple entry permit and entry permit for residency or work.
