Overseas tourist influx rises in India

Total number of overseas tourist arrivals in India during the last year was 8.03 million. The Indian government had undertaken the following steps in order to make India a low cost destination with modern infrastructure and other basic amenities in the sector of tourism.

Providing low cost accommodation to tourists like guest houses and breakfast and bed units.

Revising the e-visa fee in four slabs which are  $25, $48, $60. Bank charges has also been reduced from 2.5% to 2% for the e-visa fee.

Reducing the cost of marketing of overseas tour operators in selling and developing the packages of tour in India. 

Extending the rewards under the Indian Scheme of Service Exports (SEIS) it offers rewards to those service providers like Hotels are rewarded 3%,  Restaurants  with 3%,  Tour operators and travel agencies  with 5% and to services of tour guide its 5%.

Many steps has been taken by the Indian Government for boosting the tourism in the nation and improving the foreign exchange incomes along with generating jobs.
