The Philippines is expected to welcome around 1,00,000 tourists from India by the year 2017. The Tourism Department of Philippines had conducted the road show called as Visit the Philippines Year 2016 targeting to attract around 2000 tourists from India.
The Philippines Tourism Department had also participated in the currently conducted OTM 2016, which is termed as India’s biggest travel trade show in Mumbai, and the reply was overwhelming. The Philippines is looking to attract more tourists from India this year.
According to the Chief Tourism Operation Officer, Raymond Glen A Agustin, India is the key source market for the Philippines with around 74, 824 tourists from India visiting the country previous year, with the increase of 22.36%.
He also informed that they are looking to strengthen the ties between the Philippines Tourism Department and business partners in the travel industry of India, they are promoting activities like road shows, taxi branding, fairs and exhibitions and many more activities would be organized this year. It is targeting to drive the excitement among the tourists so that they visit the country again.
He also told that the Tourism Department has been promoting the destination not only as a holiday but also for luxury, weddings, group traveling in its cities like Davao, Palawan, Bohol, Cebu, Boracay and Manila.
