Prince Edward Island conducted a draw on April 18 and invited Express Entry and other candidates. PEI holds monthly PNP draws to attract such immigration candidates who submit an Expression of Interest.
The Details
Moreover, totally it issued 113 invitations to candidates in the Express Entry, as well as 17 in the Business Impact categories in this draw. Presently the total of invitations is 570. Furthermore, these candidates can now apply to Prince Edward Island PNP and seek nomination for Canadian PR. The entrepreneurs can now submit the application to the PNP and get the letter of support for issuing the work permit – (temporary).
The Provincial EE has a link with the Federal Express Entry system that manages the pool of candidates in the main economic immigration categories. These are:
• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class, and finally
• Federal Skilled Trades Class
Additionally, all the Express Entry candidates who intend to seek a provincial nomination from the Island need to initially complete an EOI profile separately with the Provincial PNP.
The Next Stage
The next stage is that the profiles get the EOI score from 100 points depending on work experience, education, and language proficiency. The top ranking candidates get the ITA to seek the provincial nomination in the periodic draws. Also, successful candidates get 600 additional points in the ranking score.
Labor Impact Category in PEI has no alignment with the Express Entry System. It also has three streams based on the EOI. These are:
• Skilled Workers (inside PEI, and outside Canada),
• International Graduates
• Critical Workers
The Candidates in these streams have to work in the Island or have a full-time eligible, job offer from a local employer.
Entrepreneur Invitations
Work Permit Stream in the PEI Business Impact category caters to eligible overseas entrepreneurs having the experience of business ownership or of managing the establishments. Moreover, they need to invest and run a business in the province. Furthermore, The Work Permit stream operates on an Expression of Interest basis and the candidate with the lowest-rank had a score of 107 only.
