New Zealand and Australia are linked in minds of potential travelers because of their close cultural relationship and geographical proximity.

But to visit both nations on single trip, tourist requires applying for separate visas.  The process could become difficult and expensive for visitors from countries like India and China.

So the tourism industry groups of both the nations have met with their tourism ministers and had asked them for introducing a enduring trans-Tasman tourist visa.

This measure follows after two countries previous year cooprated during the cricket WC in a deal that issued visa for three months on arrival in New Zealand  for visitors who holds a legal Australian visa.

Indian citizens are the second biggest users of this Trans-Tasman visas and then comes the number of citizens from nations like Pakistan, Srilanka and Bangladesh. 

Scheme for Joint visa could raise the foreign travelers numbers by 1,41,300 individuals by the year 2020. And that would also create additional employments and economic activities.

Tourism Departments of both the nations has cooperated in restricted way in the market of tourism like joint booths at foreign tourism events and markets. 

As per Chief Executive of Tourism New Zealand, Kevin Bowler, he was about to start few marketing cooperation with Tourism Australia.
