After the announcement of a change on June 26th, the candidates, belonging to Quebec Skilled Worker Program, will now get a period of 60 days only, for submitting the application, to get the invitation for applying to Quebec Selection Certificate. Previously, the deadline had 90 days.
Major changes
Apart from the reduced deadline, there are other changes also that the Quebec Government, introduced in the QSW Program. A major welcome change was that the EOI presently in the bank of QSW Program will be valid for six months more. Furthermore, the Expressions of candidates, that refuse to accept the invitation, to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate – CSQ, will stay in the candidates-bank, of for the full period of validity.
Expression of Interest Quebec Skilled Worker Program
Quebec had introduced its new EOI System to streamline the applications in its Quebec Skilled Worker Program in August, 2018. The intending applicants for Quebec immigration have to begin the process after entering the profile in the Quebec EOI Bank.
The Program accepts applications through its Arrima Portal, launched by the immigration authorities of Quebec on Sep 18, 2018. This portal is open all through the year and the intending immigrants for Quebec in QSWP are in a position to submit their profile of Expression of Interest at any point of the year.
Revised eligibility criteria
Moreover, the eligibility criteria for candidates to obtain the Quebec Selection Certificate, is that they need to score the minimum points as directed by the provincial selection factors in Immigration. In case the candidate is single, the least required score is 50. When the candidate applies along with a common-law partner or spouse, the desired score is 59 points.
Selection Factors
The selection factors in Quebec Immigration are:
Education must be completed and there are Up to 14 points for it. Area Of Training carries Up to 12 points whereas Validated Employment Offer has Up to 14 points. The Work Experience helps to get Up to 8 points and Age gets a maximum of 16 points. Language Proficiency leads to 22 points and Staying with Family In Quebec gets 8 points. Spouse/ Common-law partner help to get 17 points whereas Presence Of Accompanying Children will get 8 points. Finally through Financial Self-Sufficiency gets 1 point only.
