Refusal of UK's visa has dropped in Dhaka
The British High Commissioner in Dhaka has said that the refusal rate of the UK visas has come down considerably.

On 24th March, 2014, Robert Gibson, British High Commissioner to Dhaka, has said that nearly 70% of all filed visa applications have been issued successfully.

Effective visa processing and the visa information campaign are being credited for the drop in the refusal rate of the visas.

British High Commissioner has said that on an average, they receive exceeding 30,000 applications of UK visas every year, from which it is obvious that Bangladesh is highly significant to UK.

He also said that a relocated visa application centre, which is a joint venture of UK and Australia, was launched at Dhaka. The customers would be provided excellent services at the application centre.

He also said that during previous year 15, 000 visas belonging to tourist category have been issued and hopes that this count would be crossed in the current year due to the Commonwealth games that are to take place at Glasgow beginning from 23rd July, 2014.

He said that nearly 8,000 visas have been issued to the students last year.

Robert Gibson has also stated that Britain and Bangladesh are maintaining a strong relationship bilaterally.
