Saskatchewan Conducts Entrepreneur Stream Draw and selects 39 candidates

Saskatchewan conducted the second draw of the year on March 7, in its popular Entrepreneur Stream. Moreover, it issued invitations to 39 candidates to apply by using the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program.  The average score in the draw was 125 points, in the profile score range between 120 and 140 points. So far the province has invited 129 candidates in the Entrepreneur Stream in the year. In 2018 it had invited 824.

Furthermore, in the present draw, the total invitations issued were low in comparison to the previous draws. The largest draw was in October 2017, when it invited 265 candidates.

The province has also announced the dates of draws for the future. These are 2nd May, 4th July, 5th September and 7th November in the present year.

There is a plan to hold the draws every two months instead of the three months earlier. Moreover, there will be five draws in 2019.

The stages in the process of Saskatchewan immigration Entrepreneur stream are-:

1. Expression of Interest

2. Dispatching the Invitation for submitting the application and finally

3. Nomination


The requirements of expression of interest are as follows:

• A net worth of $500,000 that is acquired legally.

• Three years of entrepreneurial or management experience and finally

• Investing $300,000 in Saskatoon or Regina, or $200,000 in other areas.

Candidates also receive a score in the pool. The top scorers receive an invitation to submit the application.

Application requirements:

• Business Establishment Plan for the confirmation of figures in EOI, and one-third ownership of a company in the province, unless the amount invested is $1 million.

• Commitment regarding being active in the daily management of the business and finally,

• Creating two or more jobs for citizens or PRs in Canada in case the business is in Saskatoon or Regina.

Finally, the Program says that it has the right to assess Business Establishment Plans by third parties as identified by the provincial Saskatchewan. It will focus on the preparation and meticulousness of the applicant for preparing the Business Plan.
