Saskatchewan Entrepreneur Stream Invites 90 persons at the Start of 2019

Immigration officials of Saskatchewan conducted the first draw of the year in the popular Entrepreneur Stream of the province on Jan 3rd.

90 Entrepreneurs received the invitations in this draw where the lowest score was 115 points in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. Moreover, in this draw, the average score was 120 points, and the top scoring candidate had a score of 150 points. The province had invited 824 candidates for applying by using the Entrepreneur Stream in the last year. Moreover, in this draw, the total invitations were lower compared to past draws. The largest draw was held in Oct 2017, when 265 candidates received the invitations.

Additionally, the Province has announced the dates for all future draws, during the present year. The planned dates are for March 7^th, May 2^nd, Sep 5^th and Nov 7^th.

New format

The province aims to increase the frequency of draws. The present schedule will be to hold them every two months. In the past, the period of holding it was once in every three months. During 2019 it has a plan to hold five Entrepreneur draws.

This Immigration Entrepreneur stream has a process of three stages:

1.    Submitting an Expression of interest

2.    Invitation to submit an application

3.    Eventual Nomination

Entry requirements

The EOI has to meet these entry requirements:

• A Minimum net worth of $500,000 which is acquired legally.
• Three years of relevant experience as an entrepreneur or in managing it.
• Investment of $300,000 in Saskatoon or Regina regions, or $200,000 in any other area.

All Candidates entering the pool get a score. The top scorers also receive an invitation for submitting the application.

Applications details:

• A Business Establishment Plan to confirm figures mentioned in EOI and including one-third ownership of a company in the Province unless such investment is $1 million or above.
• A Commitment that the person will be active in daily management of business.
• Creating two jobs for citizens or P.Rs in case the business has a location in Regina/Saskatoon.

Finally, the S.I.N.P mentions that it reserves the right to assess Business Establishment Plans by professional identified by the Saskatchewan government. Such an assessment, of third parties, will have a focus on the meticulousness of the applicant, in preparing the Business Plan.
