Countries under Schengen region introduced new process for visa application

The reason behind introducing this international VIS is to provide better services by protecting the applicants from identity robbery and also to prevent from fraud of document and visa shopping.

Fingerprints are widely taken with the EU region as much secure way of identification. The usage of biometric information for the process of identification of visa holder is a quicker and precise way for identifying the visa holder.

From 2nd November, most of the citizens from the Asian countries should appear for placing their applications for providing their biometric information.

For the applications within five years the biometric information would be copied from earlier visa application that is included in the VIS.

There would be no other change in the latest procedures like visa fee or rules. The applicant shall be aware that because of provisions on the biometric information, that may cause some disruptions at the start, the first visit to the Schengen region consulate after 2nd November may take a bit of more time.
