Scotland universities are still upbeat about attracting students from India

The universities in Scotland are still optimistic about attracting the best and the brightest students from India to their educational institutions.

According to the Stuart Easter, Overseas Officer, Edinburgh University, they have been continuously working with their major partners in India towards attracting talented students from India at the universities to study in Scotland. Scotland offers a worth proposition for the overseas students due to soaring density of some of the world’s best universities in the small nation.

According to him, the government of Scotland, which initially commenced the visa related to post study work for the overseas students, had always opposed its close down and had regularly argued for its reintroduction.

He also said that Scotland still provides many opportunities for the students from India to work in Scotland after completion of their degrees through the firms entrepreneur and sponsorship schemes.

Students from India, who are studying in Scotland on the Tier 4 visas, also have much exposure to the firms for internships and later on for employment opportunities. Easter said that the colleges make sure that the students achieve the employability and also gets the chance to meet the employers on the university campus, and most of them receive sponsored by the firms for the Tier 2 work visa while they conclude their study in Scotland.

He also informed that the government of Scotland identifies the gaps of labour with highly skilled in the economy, and it also supports the universities and employers in attracting the top talent from the nations like India.

For the students from India, the tuition fees in the educational institutions of Scotland are between 9000 pound and 20,000 pounds for each year while the other expenses range between  7,000 pounds and 10,000 for each year.
