Russia and Mongolia to shift to eased visa regime

The chief counselor of Russian embassy in Mongolia, Vladimir Goryachev said to telegraph agency of the Soviet Union (TASS) that Russian nationals can now stay in Mongolia and Mongolians in Russia for upto 30 days without the need of any visa.

The chief counselor Vladimir Goryachev told that the period of stay should not go beyond 90 days in six months.

However, aspirants who are in a plan of settling down for more than 30 days in the country for studying, employment or on any commercial activities have to get the visas, said Vladimir Goryachev.

There was no conversation regarding the cancelation of the regime, but the simplification makes it easy for the citizens who intend to maintain business, cultural, kin relations and economic relations, said the counselor.

The agreement was signed In the presence of Mongolian and Russian honorable presidents, Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and Vladimir Putin, on 3 September 2014.

According to the estimation of Vladimir Goryachev around 15,000 Russians stayed in Mongolia and 18,000 Mongolians stayed in Russia previous year.
