South African Tourism Department has announced that they are going to open four latest visa application centres in India. To handle the increase in visa applications. The latest visa application centres are expected to start by the end of this year. This will also raise the number of application centres from 9 to 13 in India. Locations of these four latest visa applications centres have not been disclosed yet.
According to the South Africa Tourism Minister, Derek Hanekom, there is an increase of applications for visas from India and to handle those, the government is starting four latest visa application centres in India which would start working from the end of this year. Visa processing is one of the biggest challenges, and the department is dedicated towards it.
The Chief Marketing Officer from the South African Tourism Department, Margie Whitehouse, told that the processing of visa is a hurdle for us, and with the rise in visa application from India in previous three months, the department is working hard to remove the hurdle, as the future hold immense latent in India.
Derek Hanekom informed that the department is working on minimizing the load of applications for visa. and they are also working on relaxing the process of visa for Indian citizens. In future they might consider issuing visa exemptions to Indian citizens if they got legitimate UK, US visas. They are also working to start issuing e-visas.
The Consul General from the South Africa Consulate General, Maropene Ramokgopa, had revealed the plans of easing the process of visa for frequent and business tourists. They are also targeting to minimize the load of applications for visa that permits the business tourist to obtain 10 year visa once they apply for a visa. Frequent travelers to get three year period of visa. By this move, it is expected that the load of applications for visas would reduce.
