The Immigration Department of South Australia has recently announced the list of occupations that are in great demand in the country.
Occupations including cooks, hairdressers, investment advisors, ICT trainer, first aid trainer, equipment hire manager, pharmacy technician and medical administrator have been added to the occupation list.
According to an official, the applicants seeking/willing to apply for these positions are expected to know about the recent changes to the rules.
According to an immigration official, the applicants nominated by the state have more chances of getting employed in these occupations. However, to be nominated by the state, the applicants have to be assessed by a suitable assessing authority, including for English language assessment.
Applicants, whose applications have been approved by state nomination, would be granted additional points towards the point’s test of DIBP. If an applicant applies for a permanent visa then he/she would be granted 5 points whereas the applicants whose applications are filed for a provisional visa would be granted 10 points, according to a spokesman.
Provisional visa holders are only eligible to stay and work in a regional area categorized by DIBP. The whole of (entire) South Australia is classified as regional.
