Special passport counters for women at Jeddah airport
King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is set to launch new passport counters especially for women to speed up passport processes.
Director General of Makkah Province’s Passports Department (Jawazat), Brig. Khalaf Allah Bin Obaidullah Al-Tuwairgi, said that they have appointed 40 Saudi women at KAIA to cater to the needs of women travellers at airport. He also added that, these women passport officials have been trained rigorously to render utmost services to female travellers at special counters. He also added that, the Jawazat is eager to provide the best services to expatriates and citizens.
In order to promote the Saudi identity, a new dress code was put into practice for the immigration officers at Passports Department. The special counters to process the passports of women travelers are already in existence at King Khaled International Airport, Riyadh.
