Students seeking foreign education often hit by economic crisis

Apart from the traditional destinations like US, UK, Canada, Australia and Ireland, around 17% of the students are showing interest in pursuing education in Argentina for Spanish Language, South Africa with 15%, Malta with 17% and New Zealand with 14%. According to an agency report.

According to the report, English and the Spanish languages are most popular language courses but in these recent years, there has been increased interest in the other languages.  Among them, most popular languages are German, French and Italian.

The reasons like the currency weakening, changes in visa rules and the affected work permit are the major factors for the students to decide whether they could afford to study overseas or not.

Apart from the most popular courses, there have been increased interest in the voluntary work in Asia and Africa. Increase in interest for pursuing language courses in the exotic locations like Mauritius and Caribbean, and the courses in India and China as well.

The report also revealed that the US remains on top position for the favourite destination but it has been caught up by Canada, due to the increase in the no. of students going for English as the Second Language. 

The leading countries where students want to study are US with 32%, Canada with 30%, the UK with 27%, Australia with 27%, New Zealand, France and Argentina with 21%, and Spain, Malta and South Africa all with 20%.
