On the sidelines of the victims’ memorials from the Munich rampage, German leaders called for calm... German President Joachim Gauck and German Chancellor Angela Merkel attended a memorial service on July 31st for the victims.
Speaking at a memorial service at the Bavarian Parliament in Munich on Sunday, German President Joachim Gauck said that the victims were mostly teenagers from six different nations. Security officials have informed that after killing nine of them, the 18-year-old perpetrator who was an Iranian-German dual citizen, killed himself. He appears to have harbored right-wing views.
Mr. Gauck indirectly referred to the terrorist attacks in Belgium and France. He said that “If mass shooters and terrorists have something in common, it is likely alone the intention to rob our feeling of security and normality,”
