A new visa centre was launched in Baku on 24th April, 2014, for the citizens of Azerbaijan to visit United Kingdom.
British Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Irfan Siddiq, said that UK is willing to provide more simplified and convenient means to Azerbaijani citizens to visit the nation. The applicants can make use of this application centre to submit their documents instead of visiting the British Embassy. In addition to this, there would be a possibility to attain a visa within 15 working days.
UK and Azerbaijan have gained by their mutual partnership and collaboration with the support of the organizations like Council of Europe, OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe), United Nations, NATO and. They have maintained their relationship through coverage of a wide variety of areas such as business and investment growth and building up cultural ties.
Both the countries have built strong economic ties particularly in the field of the energy sector. United Kingdom is the major overseas investor in Azerbaijan. United States and Japan are the second major direct investors in Azerbaijan.
