UK remains strong job market for foreign students

According to Sajid Javid, UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Britain is the perfect destination for the students from India for pursuing education and it’s not at all surprising why the students from India still prefer the UK over other overseas countries.

Foreign Officer from the University of Edinburgh, Stuart Easter has also said that the students from India should also prefer Scotland as this country is having the history of 600 years of higher education. The education system of Scotland has been adopted in various nations across the globe. Scotland is also having many top class universities.

UK remains strong job market for foreign students

According to Stuart Easter, the Scottish universities have a very extensive and successful relationship with many industries all over the world. An interface was put in place to make it easy for the businesses in accessing the expertise and technology.

The universities of Scotland are renowned all over the world for their research quality. And according to information by the collaboration level between the universities and the business in Scotland is much higher than any other country in the world, with the score of 5.8 on the index of 7.

He also said that since the year 2012, there has been some drop in the Indian student numbers who wish to study in the UK. The Scotland universities are confident that they keep on welcoming the best and the brightest talent from across the world and also from India.  

Around 1,500 students were pursuing education in the universities of Scotland in the year 2013-14, and these figures are expected to increase which could be viewed in the next information which would be released next year February 2016.

Students can also choose to get sponsored by the UK firm if they get a job offer and students could also take up a startup path with the entrepreneurship visa that is being sponsored by their universities for a period of year after they had completed their graduation.

According to Stuart Easter, the government of Scotland is also running the Saltire Scholarship scheme for the students from India and it also offering the financial assistance of around 2000 pounds to 200 students.

The tuition fee for the universities of Scotland could range from 9000 pounds to 20,000 pounds every year which is same as rest of the UK. The living expenses are better value when compared to the rest of the UK with students having an average yearly spending of 7,000 to 10,000 pounds.

Students who come to study in Scotland can do part time job for upto 20 hours a week. As this would provide students, gain some valuable work experience and they can also contribute towards their cost of living.

Nine out of 10 graduates goes to job or for further education, six months after completing the graduation.  Graduates from the universities of Scotland are also getting high salaries in the UK. As UK had always remained a strong job market for the foreign students who just need to find an employer who would sponsor their job visa. Presently, there are more than 29,000 businesses in the UK who has got the license to sponsor Tier 2 job visa for the foreign students.
