UK's premier carrier Virgin Atlantic sought cut in visit visa fee for Indian visitors

UK’s premier carrier Virgin Atlantic has sought 90% cut in the fee for its 10 year visit visa for the Indian visitors.  This call has come ahead of India’s PM visit to the UK.

According to the statement from Virgin Atlantic, the cost of the ten-year visit visa which is granted to the Indian visitors required to be decreased to around Rs. 8,500 from the recent amount of Rs. 73,300, so as to unlock the cultural and business potential between the two nations.

Virgin Atlantic has urged the UK government to drop the price of visit visa for the Indian citizens who seek to visit UK.

According to the airline, this will cut the price of ten year visit visa from 737 pounds to 85 pounds.

According to Nick Parker, airline's head of India and Middle East, they have been working with the government of UK on the proposals for reducing the cost of visit visas for the Indian and Chinese visitors.

He also said that they are delighted with the latest declared visa changes for the visitors from China, and now it’s time to extend the same to the Indian visitors. 

Major visa reform is important for unlocking the complete potential of immense exciting cultural and business opportunities that exists between the two nations. If at all the UK is stern about additional strengthening of cultural and economic ties with India, then the change in the visa price shall be carried next week. – He added.
