The US has said India that is bound by the law on the current visa fee issue; it is an issue that has been strongly raised by the Indian Finance Minister.
According to the Finance Minister, there are two matters, one is the current one, the issue of visa fee and other one is the old matter of totalisation charges for IT professionals. The US reply is that they got a low which mentions it. And until the law is changed it is going to stay there.
Finance Minister was replying to a query on reply he got from the Trade Representative of the US, Mike Froman, at the time he raised the matter, last week.
Visa fee matter is affecting only firms from India, the finance minister has mentioned it as biased practice.
Previous year, the US has imposed a special fee on its H-1B and L-1 visas which is most sought out among IT firms of India for funding act of healthcare and system of biometric tracking.
