The number of Russian tourists migrating to South Korea is anticipated to get doubled to 350,000 in 2014 because of visa-free scheme that has been introduced in January and building interest in medical tourism.

 

Chung Jae-Soon from Korea Tourism Organization told to ITAR-TASS at Russia-Korea tourism conference that Seoul is Russians’ favorite South Korean city and the volume of tourists might increase from 175,000 making the trip in 2013.

 

Exceptional tourism promotions are to be conducted between the South Korea and Russia in order to increase the number of tourists in 2014-2015. Besides the business travelers the number of migrants arriving for medical treatment is also increasing with 24,000 in 2012.

 

Authority's Chung also commented that the central Russia is now observing traditional popularity amid Russia's Far East visitors who are conscious about their health.

 

Conference organizers are also promoting Russian resorts for overseas guests. The Russian Travel Association's World without Borders and Russian Federal Agency for Tourism are organizing events.
