India to extend VoA to UK, France, though China is still dubious

As per government sources, travelers from four nations, including the UK could soon be eligible for VoAs. At present, 43 countries which include the US are eligible for getting VoAs. During the budget speech last month, Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley said that this facility would be exclusive for 150 nations in all and will be taking place in phases.

The Tourism Department, which is headed by Mahesh Sharma, has asked Rajnath Singh, Home Minister to include China, Spain, France, UK and Italy under the program. Nonetheless, security organizations are barring the inclusion of China. They emphasized that China still issued affixed visas for visitors from Arunachal Pradesh, which was considered clashed region. As Beijing is standing its ground on the issue, Indian intelligence authorities believe that India should not relax its travel rules for Chinese travelers.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for a visit to China in the month of May this year. Additionally, there have been several demands from both the nations to relax visa rules and regulations in order to promote business and tourism. They are working out a way where the security of the country is not threatened and also visas can be easily obtained.
