Woman With A Fake Passport Found At Delhi Airport

November 14, 2017

A woman detained at the Delhi airport accused for holding a fake passport fled the airport without anyone noticing. She exited the airport from the departure gate. Central Industrial Security Force guards at the gate didn’t even notice her leaving. All this was caught on CCTV cameras installed at the departure gate. This is the second time such incident has happened at the Delhi airport.  No one is allowed to do so unless they have a written letter from the airlines they are traveling in.

Initially, it was thought that the woman used gate used by staff to enter and exit. The incident occurred on October 16 at midnight. They saw the woman escaping on CCTV when she exited from the departure gate. CISF official said that they have removed the guard at the departure gate for not fulfilling his duties. The woman had booked a flight to Thailand with Air India AI 314. She went to the immigration counter for clearance but was stopped due to suspicion. When the immigration officer told her to wait, she waited for a while and when she thought no one was watching she exited from the departure gate.

After searching about the women, the immigration officials found that the woman was from Nepal and was using a fake Indian passport to go to Hong Kong.

Second such incident

A similar incident happened in June 2017 at the Delhi airport. Guinea Bissau sneaked out of the Delhi airport right under the nose of immigration officials. He had entered India in the Ethiopian airline flight ET 686. The officers took him to the deportation office because he couldn’t produce a visa for them. In the office he changed his clothes and fled away.

He had given the officials his phone number, but the Delhi police couldn’t trace him. He is still not found, but the search is going on.
