UK announces new scholarships for Indian students

In a bid to encourage more Indian students to enter UK, the government has announced a new scholarship for Indian finance professionals wishing to study in Britain.

The Chancellor of UK, George Osborne introduces the Chevening Financial Services Leadership course during a meeting with Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister of India in London.

The Treasury department of UK stated that this will be the first initiative to help reinforce further financial relations between the two nations, whilst further making Britain as the center for global finance.

In the meeting, the ministers held talks for the passage of the Indian insurance bill, which will open up opportunities for UK insurers in India and strengthen UK-India economic and financial ties.

Osborne stated that building strong ties with India is government’s key priority. They are planning to develop links with emerging markets like India, which in turn benefits both nations in means of jobs and growth.
