Dubai grants more than 200,000 work visas in Q1 2015

Over 200,000 Dubai work visas were issued in Q1 2015

According to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) statistics, Dubai has granted 206,770 new employment visas in the initial quarter of 2015.

The Medical Fitness Director has said that the medical fitness department at DHA held on a whole 496,721 health check up procedures, out of which 206,770 fitness checks was to grant of new visas and the rest 289,951were for renewal of visas.

Medical fitness is an obligatory requirement for all the expats in UAE. It is needed for a residency, education or employment visa.

The Dubai Health Authority has 16 medical fitness centers situated around various parts of the emirate for grants and renewal of medical fitness tests.

Al Bustani, said that on a whole 496,721 procedures, 27,875 individuals chosen the four-hour VIP service, 22,550 individuals chosen 24 hour express result option as well as 93,549 chosen 48 hour option.

She added that occupational screening is required for people who would like to get a certification in line with the requirement of the profession for instance pre-employment credential for workers employing in private as well as the government sector. It is also needed for civil defense professionals, heavy truck drivers and people working in food industry etc.
