South Korea simplifies visa requirements for Vietnam travelers

The Minister-Counsellor of the RoK Embassy in Vietnam, Park Noh Wan, has simplified the process of obtaining a visa for tourists, students, and patients of Vietnam, by reducing the paperwork, processing time and the application fees.

The relaxation process includes reducing the application fees and obtaining a visa not more than two days from the registration date. In addition, the entry requirements have also been eliminated.

The diplomat expects that this initiative will create more favorable conditions for Vietnam tourists who wish to visit the Republic of Korea (Rok).

The Consular Office of the RoK embassy in Vietnam stated that overall 9,169 short-term tourism visas has been granted for the first six months of the year representing twice the number of the same period last year. A total of 83,095 tourists from Vietnam traveled to the RoK between the period of January and July, which represents an increase of 23.4% when compared to same period previous year.
