The foreign Minister of UK, Hugh Robertson, has opened the new application centre of UK in the Muscat Grand Mall, and also said that the government of UK has declared certain changes to ease the application process of visa for the students of Oman.
The visitors o f Oman are provided with the facility of ‘Electronic visa waiver’, which authorizes the visitors to visit United Kingdom free of visa on condition that they complete an Electronic visa waiver form online at least prior to 48 hours of travel.
The changes are intended to offer the people of Oman the maximum comfort and ease their travel to United Kingdom either for study, business or for holiday. The recent application centre of visa is almost twice the size of the existing one and offers simple and easy access to the customers.
On providing extra fees, the customers are offered with additional personal service. Effective 06th April, 2014, Oman would be added to the list of countries, where the people of these countries can avail the benefit of providing less documents which are necessary for the filing the applications for student visa.
Jamie Bowden, The British Ambassador to Oman, has said that it is great news to hear that the Omani students are able to avail the simplified visa process. He said that the simplified visa procedure has already been implemented for the tourists and the business people of Oman through ‘Electronic Visa waiver’ program. This program has been implemented in January and many of the Omanis are availing the benefit of it, except a few who make mistakes while filling the form due to which they would not be able to travel to UK. The personal details that are to be mentioned in the form have to match the details of the passport, which includes filling the middle names and punctuation marks. The details of the travel have to be accurate that would include the last port of departure.
