Two latest visa plans are being started that would improve tourism, business links and youth mobility between Singapore and Australia.

The latest visa arrangements has been developed as part of Australia Singapore  Strategic Partnership and both the nations has agreed for implementing a work and holiday visa for adults from both the nations.

According to the Immigration Minister of Australia, this visa arrangement would let the residents to travel, reside and work and pursue education in each other’s nation.  And would also promote cultural exchange and strengthen links by making prospects for youth to travel and undertake short term job and study for supplementing their experience of holiday.

This work and holiday visa arrangement would make available around 500 slots in every nation each year with probability for development in coming years. This has brought Australia’s working holiday visa program to a sum of 39 partner nations.

Apart from this work and visa holiday visa initiative, the government of Australia would soon start an alternative of a long duration multiple entry visitor visa for citizens of Singapore for visiting Australia, an extension of the present one year visa.

Singapore is among leading nations for tourists to Australia, with over 2,03,000 visitors visas issued last year,  which is an increase of 4.6% when compared to the year 2013-14.

As per the minister, this visa arrangement would further boost business and tourism between the two nations and letting them for longer period of duration would motivate repeat visits.  He also informed that the alternative of longer duration multiple entry visitor visa for citizens of Singapore would be aimed at short term tourists to Australia. The immigration department of Australia would work closely with its counterpart in Singapore for implementing the arrangement as quickly as possible.
