Australia's DIBP officials to conduct seminars on immigration to enlighten employers, workers, etc.

DIBP Australia to conduct seminars in two towns to provide important information to those concerned

According to official information, immigration outreach officers have set up appointments that will see them visit the towns of Gladstone and Rockhampton between May 1 and May 3. They will be there to provide information pertaining to skilled immigration in formal seminars. 

Information will also be made available regarding employer-sponsored skilled migration visas. Information on regional sponsored migration scheme (RSMS), rights of hiring companies as well as that of employees, requirements and constraints under the skilled migration programmes and updated information on the 457 temporary work visa will also be made available. 

According to the DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection), there have been important modifications to the employer-sponsored skilled visa programmes which taken place throughout 2012-13. So, these latest seminars will seek to provide updated information regarding these changes. 

Also, SkillSelect is one of the programs regarding which adequate information and guidance will be provided by the officials. Thus, SkillSelect which is a service which is available online, matches Australian employers with prospective skilled applicants. This program clears and provides a platform which enables interested employers to hire skilled employees who are already present and employed in Australia on temporary skilled visas such as 457 visas and provides them with permanent residency. 

Also provided will be information on penal action that will be taken on employers who flout immigration laws and hire illegal workers who may not have valid visas to work in Australia.
