British Columbia holds an Immigration Draw and Invites 346 candidates

British Columbia conducted a fresh draw on March 5 to attract international graduates and skilled workers in five provincial streams. It issued 346 invitations in the first BC draw covering all programs since Feb 12. The skilled workers required A score of 89 for the direct provincial and Express Entry streams. Additionally, the requirement for International graduates in both streams was 97 points. For the semi-skilled and entry-level workers, it was 69 points only.

In the previous draw of the province held on Feb 26, the BC PNP Tech Pilot 36 issued invitations. The minimum score requirement for both streams was 85 points. Also, the International graduates needed only 94 points in it.

There was an extension in the BC PNP Tech Pilot into 2019 after its launch in 2017. Presently it covers 29 target occupations and also has relaxed requirements.

The PNP specifically has an aim to attract technology workers. The province has a flourishing technology focus and is associated with several big names of the technology world.

The Tech Pilot Job Requirements are:

• A Job offer for any of the target occupations

• This Job-offer should be for the one-year duration and finally

• Additionally, it must be valid for 120 days at the time of applying

Details

After achieving the provincial nomination there is an effective guarantee of selection in the Express Entry owing to the addition of 600 CRS points.

The Program also publishes the necessary scores for immigrants to get the invitation under its programs. The score requirement for global graduates is 30 points lower than a skilled worker in both the Express Entry and also in the provincial stream. Finally, it is low for entry-level/semi-skilled workers.
