British Columbia holds First General PNP Draw and issues 242 Invitations

On March 26th, the Immigration officials in British Columbia held the first general draw in three weeks and issued 242 ITAs in five PNP streams. Additionally, the feature of this draw was that the minimum scores moved up from the previous general draw held on March 5. The minimum score in the  Express Entry as well as in the direct provincial streams for skilled workers was 94 points. International graduates in these categories needed 100 points. The requirement to qualify for the semi-skilled/entry-level workers was just 73 points.

Furthermore, the previous draw happened on March 19th and 37 invitations were issued in it by using the BC PNP Tech Pilot, which attracts IT workers in 29 occupations. Skilled workers in the direct provincial/EE streams for skilled workers needed 89 points for qualifying. Also, the score necessary for EE and direct provincial global graduates was just 97 points.

The Pilot has  29 target occupations, which was extended to 2019. It also has duration requirements that are relaxed. The province focuses on the technology industry and there are major technology companies thriving in it.

The provincial nomination leads to a guarantee to succeed in the EE System of Canada, with the addition of 600 rank points. The Program also publishes the score requirement for all immigrants necessary to guarantee success in Canadian immigration. The score necessary for global graduates is 30 points below than necessary for categories of skilled workers. Moreover,   it is lower for semi-skilled/entry-level workers
