According to the Canadian immigration Minister, John McCallum, the government of Canada would always look to make the process of immigration easy for foreign students.

He said that the foreign students are finest source of immigrants, in a sense that they are educated, they could speak in English Language and they know something about Canada. So the government would be doing everything they could do to retain them.

The comments from the Immigration Minister can put an important implications for Nova Scotia Province that welcomes around large number of foreign students every year and it has been pushing really hard to lure many more immigrants.

As per the information from the Saint Mary’s University, over a quarter of students arrives from other nations.  As per the information from Dalhousie University around 14% of the entire 18,000 students are foreigners, while around 1,000 foreign students are studying in Cape Breton University.

Jimena Prado, Member, Dalhousie International Students' Association, told that large number of foreign students wish to reside in Nova Scotia after completing their graduation.

Meanwhile the immigration Minister had told that the Canadian government is looking at various alternatives for facilitating the students in becoming the permanent residents of Canada.
