The French government has decided to ease the visa norms for Indian tourists. They have also announced that they are going to issue the visas in 48 hours and are about to launch eight more visa spots across France to provide best visa services to growing count of Indian travelers.
The French embassy has also launched an official mobile travel app called 'Paris Chalo’ that has been developed particularly for tablets and smart-phones, to make Indian tourists have a good France holiday trip.
French Ambassador to India, Francois Richer revealed that the visa move was advanced to help the growing number of Indian tourists to France. He further added that the travel applications that were created especially for Indian travelers will be launched soon. The business and tourist visas will be delivered now by the French consulates within 48 hours or in any of the two business days from 1 January.
Richier also said that the figure of visas delivered by the consulates of France to Indian travelers has surged to 33 percent in 2014 when compared to the previous year. About 80,000 visas were given from Jan 2014 till October and the count is anticipated to reach 90,000 by the end of the year.
French minister promised the foreign affairs that they will set up a strong connectivity between the two countries at all levels by removing the hurdles and barriers. In addition to the six visa issuing centers of Pondicherry, Delhi (the embassy), Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai in the country, they are about to add eight more to the existing ones. The new visa issuing centres are Chandigarh, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Goa, Ahmedabad, Jalandhar, and Kochi. In these eight visa centers, visas will be issued in 72 hours, the Ambassador said.
