Under this new skilled category, the process will be made faster so that it is easier for the new immigrants to come over to this province.

He believes that encouraging the number of immigrants will lead to a better state of the economy. It is a full cycle of growth in the state of this province if the population grows. They have not only raised the bar but doubled the number of applications to be accepted and processed annually. Which means they will be accepting 1050 applicants every year.

Premier also mentioned that they had to convince and come to the terms with the federal government.

At present 92 percent of the province's population lives on the island of Newfoundland. Saying that the retention rate is on increase as well. With even five to six weeks of advertisement for recruitment, they are finding it difficult to fill up a vacancy.

With the present economy, their priority is to retain the immigrants along with generating more employment as stated by, Premier Paul Davis. He also mentions that they have improved strategies for retention that is getting better every year.
