Around 1,17,210 tourists has arrived in India on its electronic tourist visa previous month when compared to just 24,985 during same period previous year, with an increase of 369.1%.
As per the inputs from Tourism Ministry, the UK continues to remain at top position followed by the US and France among the other countries whose citizens has availed the facility of e-tourist visa.
From 26th February 2016, this facility of e-tourist visa was extended for the nationals of 37 additional countries, taking the total to 150 countries.
UK has top the list of nations who citizens has availed the facility of e-visa in previous month with 27.8% followed by the US with 13.85%, France with 8.08%, Russia with 6.21%, Germany with 4.92% and China with 4.91%, Canada with 4.21%, Australia with 3.64%, Korea with 2.15% and Ukraine with 2%.
