India is going to provide the facility of visa on arrival to the citizens of Japan, and it is predicted that it would help in increasing the business and travel tourists.

The facility which is being offered to the citizen from Japan would be an up gradation of the e-Tourist visa that is presently provided to the citizens of 150 countries.

While this e-tourist visa needs to present an online visa application and also present its approval before visiting India. Citizens from Japan will not be needed to go through the process.

According to the statement from the Home Ministry official, citizen from Japan would be provided visa on arrival in India in any of the six airports in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi.

The visa on arrival for the citizen from Japan would be granted in tourist, business, conference and medical categories. It would also have the validity period of one month.

As per the predictions, around 1.8 lakh visas are granted to the citizen of Japan each year, out of which around 80% of them are tourists. Averagely around 600 citizens from Japan visit INDIA DAILY.

According to the official, the facility of visa on arrival would be provided to the citizen from Japan, it might be extended to additional countries like Korea in the later on stages.

During Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe visit to India, the Indian Prime Minister had declared that the visa on arrival will be given to the citizen from Japan this year.
