Saskatchewan Holds EOI Draw Targeting 96 Jobs and Issues 595 Invitations

The immigration authorities in Saskatchewan targeted 96 NOC codes and issued 595 invitations in their recent provincial draw for Expression of Interest draw on December 20. Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program featured invitations in the provincial Express Entry as well as in Occupations In-Demand category. The share of Express Entry was 304 and for the Occupations In-Demand it was 291. Also, the minimum score in both streams was just 69 points.

It was the ninth draw after the SINP expanded its list of eligible occupations, to 218 from 19.

The Process for Expression of Interest in Saskatchewan

• Submitting the EOI profile

• Entering Expression in the candidate pool

• Choice of the EOI candidates

• Issuing Invitations to apply in draws

• Candidates finally submit complete application in 60 days

• Program officials make the assessment of applications and decide on it

Requirements for Occupation-In-Demand Sub-Category

• Scoring 60 points in the point grid of SINP;

• Having a language score at CLB 4

• One year of post-secondary education/ apprenticeship or training that can be compared to the education system in Canada by earning the degree, diploma, or a certificate

• Credentials obtained outside Canada need the Educational Credential Assessment;

• One-year work experience during the last ten years In a field of training or education or occupation, and

• In eligible occupations listed in NOC 0, A, B,

• Obtaining a suitable license in Saskatchewan if it is a field requirement,

• Sufficient proof of settlement funds accompanied by a plan

• Payment on application fee online that is non-refundable worth $300

Requirements for the Saskatchewan Express Entry

Candidates hailing from outside Canada or those having the legal status qualify in this immigration category, but they must not be a refugee claimant.

In addition, candidates must:

• Put up the profile in Express Entry Pool, with a number and a relevant job seeker code;

• Scoring 60 points in the point grid of SINP;

• Providing language test results from a selected testing agency to match with Express Entry profile;

• One year of post-secondary education/ apprenticeship or training that can be compared to the education system in Canada by

earning the degree, diploma, or a certificate

• Credentials obtained outside Canada need the Educational Credential Assessment;

• One-year work experience during the last ten years in skilled profession non-trades, and

• Two years of work experience in skilled trades during previous five years; or

• One year in Canada during the previous three years in a trade or non-trade capacity,

• Having experience in top skilled, eligible occupations as per the NOC 0, A, B,

• Obtaining a suitable license in Saskatchewan if it is a field requirement,
